Hollow Ball

A hollow polypropylene ball formed from two hemispheres, each carrying half-sector blades that are offset where the halves meet. The faceted, open body gives a large surface area and a high void volume, so gas and liquid contact evenly at low pressure drop — in scrubbing, desulfurization and degassing towers, and as a suspended carrier in wastewater treatment.

The ball is built for contact area rather than for weight: blades on every facet meet the gas stream, the hollow core keeps air moving, and the polypropylene body stands up to acid and alkaline service.

Faceted blade structure

Two hemispheres are joined with their half-sector blades offset, so the facets spread the liquid into a thin film and repeatedly cut the rising gas into fine bubbles.

High void, low pressure drop

Void volume of 81 – 92% leaves a short, open path for the gas, which keeps pressure drop, flooding risk and fan power low in packed towers.

Light, corrosion resistant

PP keeps the bulk weight of a packed bed low and resists acid and alkali media, so it suits desulfurization, acid-mist and degassing duty as well as biological contact oxidation.
