A sheet-metal trough that takes clarified water off a settling tank, clarifier or filter cell evenly across its full width. Supplied in stainless steel 304 in two working forms — a V-notch weir crest for uniform overflow, or a perforated wall for filter-floor collection — folded and welded to your basin drawing.

Collection is a hydraulic problem, not a metalwork problem. The trough has to sit at one level along its whole length, present the same opening to the water everywhere, and carry the flow away without backing up — otherwise the basin short-circuits and the far end does the settling.
The trough is set to a single crest level along its full length, so the overflow is taken evenly instead of concentrating near the outlet. Adjustable brackets and slotted supports let the crest be trimmed on site once the basin is filled.
For settling tanks and clarifiers the crest carries a row of V-notches, which keep the overflow steady and measurable over a range of flows. For filter cells the wall is perforated instead, so filtrate, backwash water or wash air is collected through the openings along the trough.
Stainless steel 304 needs no coating, resists the corrosion of treated and backwash water, and is stiff enough to span a basin without sagging. Stiffeners, end plates and support brackets are welded in place, and the whole trough is fabricated to your dimensions rather than cut down from a stock size.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Product | Collection trough (effluent collection channel) for settling tanks, clarifiers and filter cells |
| Working forms | V-notch (triangular) weir trough · perforated trough |
| Material | Stainless steel 304; an ABS version is produced for the same duty |
| Fabrication | Folded sheet, welded, with welded stiffeners; end plates, branch outlets and support brackets on request |
| Cross-section | On request — set by the basin width, the design flow and the outlet arrangement |
| Length | On request — made to the tank drawing; long runs are supplied in bolted or welded sections |
| Plate thickness | On request |
| Notch pitch, depth & angle | On request — set by the weir loading and the head available over the crest |
| Perforation diameter & pitch | On request — set by the design flow through the trough |
| Support & fixing | Brackets, embedded plates, support legs or stool supports — to the basin drawing, on request |
| Surface finish | Mill / pickled finish as standard; other finishes on request |
| MOQ / price | On request — confirm the basin drawing, material, quantity & destination |
Dimensions, plate thickness, notch or hole layout and support details are project-specific: they are confirmed against your basin drawing before the order is released, and are therefore quoted On request rather than fixed on this page.

Basin length and width, the design flow or weir loading, the water level you want to hold and the outlet position are enough for us to confirm the section, notch or hole layout, material and export packing — and to quote.
