High-flow mixing aeration

Vortex
Aerator

A barrel-type aerator for high-flow aeration and mixing in large basins. Air is fed down a riser pipe into a moulded barrel; the internal vortex element breaks the air stream up, and the air–water mixture leaves the barrel mouth while basin water is drawn in through the inlet opening at the base — one air connection, a large circulating flow.

Why this aerator

Air-driven barrel,
large circulating flow

Instead of releasing air at the tank floor and letting the bubbles do all the work, this aerator puts the air inside a barrel — so the air stream also moves water, and a modest air volume sets up a much larger flow through the barrel.

01

Barrel lifts water, not just air

The barrel mouth discharges at high level while the side opening at the base draws water in, so the unit pumps basin water through itself continuously and drives a large-scale circulation around the tank instead of aerating one spot.

02

Internal vortex element

Inside the barrel a ribbed vortex element with a four-blade head repeatedly splits and redirects the rising air–water stream, so the air is broken into bubbles and held against the water over a longer contact path before it leaves the mouth.

03

Bolted, serviceable assembly

The end carrier plate, the internal element and the riser pipe are separate bolted parts on a moulded barrel, and the barrel carries two flanged mounting pads — so a unit can be lifted out, opened and re-piped on site without cutting the barrel.
